Sheila Anne Lee, 79, (young in spirit)passed away on January 20, 2024, on her own terms, at Shands hospice, after a long illness. She was born in Oswego, New York and received her bachelor’s degree in education at SUNY Oswego. She was employed with Alachua County School district as a teacher. Before her retirement, she taught 3rd grade for many years at Littlewood Elementary school, in Gainesville, FL where her students were her children. She was a great storyteller.
Survivors include her bother Edward (Mary), sister Jinny (Jeff), sister-in-law Karen, nieces, nephews, cousins and cherished friends. She was predeceased by father, Joseph and mother Bernice, and brother John.
At her request, there will be no services. A private natural burial at Prairie Creek Conservation Cemetery will take place at a later date.
She will be greatly missed by those who loved her. Thank you Sheila for making the world a better place!
