Betty Barbara Eisenberg, 100, of Hawthorne, passed from this life on Saturday, January 20, 2024 at Haven Hospice Roberts Care Center in Palatka following a brief illness. Born in Salisbury, England, Betty proudly served in the British Navy during World War II. It was during this time when she met her husband to be on a blind date while he was serving in the U.S. Army. Betty had resided in Putnam County for the past 35 years, coming from Miami. She worked several years as a secretary in the Pharmacy Department at the University of Florida. Betty was a member of the Jewish War Veterans Organization. An avid Florida Gator fan, Betty also enjoyed knitting in her leisure time.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Leonard Starr Eisenberg, her parents, Joseph Samuel Jones and Mary Jones, a son, Mark Henry Eisenberg and 4 siblings, Dido, Peggy, Victor and Joseph.

Betty is survived by 2 daughters, Helen Freeland of Hawthorne and Gail Anne Storin (Michael) of Marietta, GA, 5 grandchildren, Jodi Serrano (Cristobal, preceded), Paul Berman, Chelsey Connley (Brian), Michael Travis Storin (Saba) and Kelly Storin and 6 great-grandchildren, Cristobal Ramis Serrano, III, Sarah Annastarr Serrano, Olivia Connley, James Connley, William Storin and Madeleine Storin.
