I am wondering how many people have decided not to remark after reading that comment, very sad indeed….

Hi there, that would depend on you.

Meanwhile, candidates can request that their IELTS test be re-marked. This is called an Enquiry on Results (EOR). Your test will be checked by an examiner in the UK or Australia, and you will have to pay a fee. If your score increases, the money you paid for the EOR will be refunded. (If your new score is the same or lower, your score will stay the same and you will not get your money back.) Here is some more information: https://takeielts.britishcouncil.org/take-ielts/ielts-results-scores

Feel free to contact us if you need further help. Here’s our email chris@ieltsadvantage.com.

My score is LRW-8,8,8. However, I got a 6.5 in speaking. In my previous test that I gave 15 days back, I scored a 7 in speaking. Should I go for a remark in speaking as I only need 0.5 more in speaking?

Is there a website, or the address? Is there a proper paperwork for that? Thank you

Took the test and my results were; L, R, S & W – 9, 9, 8.5 & 6.5.

It was laughable! I’m not a native English speaker but I do know how to write extensively in English. To put it in clearer perspective, I studied English and Literary Studies for my first degree. In all honesty, I didn’t give writing much practice because I felt it’s what I’d done many times: however, I did study the pattern of answers that IELTS deem acceptable before sitting for the test.

I understood the questions asked, completed both tasks, and had 5mins to crosscheck my work for errors. So whatever the criterion for marking IELTS, I couldn’t accept 6.5 to be my genuine grade. I made a little research of the scores of as many fellow test takers that wrote the exam in the same center as myself as I could gather, and found that no one else scored above 6.5! Coincidence or did I smell a rat?!!

In the end, I applied for a remark and received feedback within 10days. My writing score had been bumped by a miserly 0.5 which summed it to band 7. Can’t say I’m ecstatic, but I would advise anyone that truly feel they did better, to go ahead and request EOR.
