Hi there, thanks for your comment!

No, you do not need to write an introduction for General Writing Task 1. Task 1 requires you to write a letter so an introduction is not needed.

Here is a link to help you understand what is expected of you:

It’s impossible to say without seeing the essay question or your exact response. It is normal to feel nervous after doing a test but there is nothing you can do about it now.

What you should do is just wait until you get your results and we will provide you with the help you need, if you require it. You can send us an email at any time: chris@ieltsadvantage.com

Good luck!

Maybe it is going to be a bizarre question, however, I have to ask in order to make it clear in my mind. There is a myth saying that if you are taking IELTS in the countries where speak English as a first language, you will most probably get the hardest questions. Is that real or just rumor?

What’s worse, the training and monitoring that examiners receive is minimal. While there are some very rudimentary safeguards in place to prevent the awarding of inaccurate marks, the fact remains that even if the examiner is way off, that’s probably the mark you will be stuck with.
