Hi there! It doesn’t matter which you use. However, generally, it is best to pick either American or British and stick to that throughout. As long as the way you’ve spelled a word is acceptable in either British or American English, your spelling of that word will be absolutely fine. I see the diffirence between American and British English. Which English useage needed for ielts?

Hi! I know that you recommended in the article to generally stick to one type of English. So using various forms of English to expand the vocabulary is counterproductive? Should I stick to repeating (for e.g. waste and rubbish) again and again in an Essay or use American words like garbage and trash as well?

I am living in Australia and I trying to get an 8 for speaking and for Writing! I’ve talked to an examiner and she told me I’m not getting the score I need cuz I use both American and British Vocabulary so it makes my sentences inconsistent Why would she say something like that??
