This is very interesting for me, because I could really see myself in their problems and solutions. Before I learnt IELTS, I took TOEFL paper-based test out of necessity because of my job. Unexpectedly, I’ve got total score of 603. It’s very surprising for me and my family since I only need 500 to bypass the requirement from my job, and I never really studied hard enough. I only bought one random book from bookstore near me and did 4 or 5 full simulation test. Because of that, my family then convince me to take scholarship for study abroad.

The sad truth is, paper-based TOEFL is very rarely accepted in Europe and Australian University.Consequently, it forced me to take IELTS for admission. Just when I started to teach myself, I stumbled upon your website.

Now, where do I start? All the content in your website is very comprehensive and structural, it’s almost like lifesaver for me (smile). I got overwhelmed when I first read your post because I didn’t have any idea how to prepare myself. IELTS is very different compared to TOEFL PBT, especially in speaking and writing part. As someone from developing country, we only know English language from reading, and sometimes listening to music and film. Speaking in foreign language is never really passed through my mind, and writing without Google Translate is near impossible for me. Thanks to your blog, now I’ve got some confidence to take the real test. Your speaking and writing tips helped my tremendously when I took simulation test, and I wish I could get better score when I took the real test soon.

Do you agree that only a few people are going to be like those you mentioned above? Even if people hear the inspring stories of becoming a fluent and super-good-at English speaker, not all of them DO change their habit and attitude towards English learning. For me, there are people who are born with language learning potential, and only those will LISTEN what you just shared not EVERYBODY. I am confident you agree with me.
