Connected speech is there in the spoken form of all languages.

I’ve found that when English learners can produce connected speech in conversation or while they are reading they are simultaneously improving their comprehension skills. I’ve written more on this at http://www.tipsforenglish.com/?p=442. Good post.

I have not used it specifically for pron and will think about that for future use
