‘comprising 6 main stages’ or ‘comprising of 6 main stages? The first sounds better to me as comprising already means ‘consisting of’, what do you think?

Also,
A google search for ‘fortnight’ says it’s British and informal, does it have the same meaning for the rest of the world?

Hi there! If the natural process involves something producing something else, then the passive can be used. In this case, since a moth produces eggs, it can be written in the passive: eggs are produced by the moth. When the natural process doesn’t involve one thing producing another thing, then the active voice is used. e.g. the sun shines, plants grow, fruit ripens etc. If you have any further questions or need our team of IELTS teachers to help you prepare for your exam, please feel free to contact us here: chris@ieltsadvantage.com

please answer to my doubt.

“To begin with, eggs are produced by the moth”
why have you used a passive sentence to describe the natural process ?
