Thanks for your question about the “To what extent do you agree or disagree” question type.

This is an opinion essay, not a discussion essay. You should always take a clear position: either ‘totally agree’ or ‘totally disagree’, never ‘partially agree/disagree’.

The question does not ask about disagreement. What would be the essay structure for such agree/disagree questions?

Can I disagree instead of agree because it is asking for my opinion. Do I have the liberty to disagree or am I compelled to agree no matter what.

Please guide.
