If you've every wanted to cuddle with a cow, now's your chance.

Rooterville Animal Sanctuary, a nonprofit in Melrose dedicated to providing a home for rescued farm animals, announced Monday that it is now offering "Cow Cuddling" sessions.

Rooterville Animal Sanctuary, 1208 County Road 315 in Melrose, is now offering cuddling sessions with Jett, its baby highland cow.

Known for their distinctive long horns and shaggy coats, highland cows have long captured the hearts of animal enthusiasts worldwide.

The new cuddling experience aligns with Rooterville's mission to promote animal welfare, education and the importance of compassion towards all living beings, according to a news release from the sanctuary.

"It is my privilege to share these amazing and friendly animals with visitors from all over the state, giving them a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to spend time with real cows who love the attention, the snacks and even give kisses and cuddles," said Rooterville President Elaine West, in the news release.

“Cow Cuddling” sessions for two guests cost $50 for 15 minutes or $95 for 30 minutes, and can be booked online at rooterville.org. A session for two with the highland cow is booked as a separate experience and costs $95 for 20 minutes. All proceeds directly benefit the sanctuary and it mission.

For safety reasons, children younger than 8 can only participate in cuddle sessions with the baby highland cow.

Founded in 2004, Rooterville also offers goat and pig cuddling, private visits, field trips, birthday parties and weddings. It also offers accommodations such as covered wagons, a farmhouse, tent camping and RV parking.
